The Emerging Technologies (EmTech) Conference at MIT brings attendees face-to-face with the technological breakthroughs that are transforming the way we live and do business. Each year, this unique event brings together business leaders, venture capitalists, senior technologists, and an extraordinary group of the top 35 innovators under the age of 35—MIT Technology Review’s TR35.

The EmTech identity system underwent a comprehensive redesign to coincide with its 20th anniversary. A mesh wave, symbolizing the continuous flux of technological change, provided a dynamic backdrop for a bold new logo. These designs were then grounded with a vibrant, minimal color palette that brought energy and consistency to a variety of promotions, merchandise, and environmental graphics for the celebration.

The streamlined identity — consisting of a logo, four colors, a single typeface, and a dynamic decorative element — allows for scalability across print, digital, and environmental applications.

A publicity campaign emphasizing personalities and place carried across print, digital, and social media.

The designs culminated with a set of static and dynamic onsite graphics, including, signage, collateral, and stage animations.
